Introduction

Free online test for Social Anxiety - Interaction Anxiousness Scale (IAS). IAS was developed by Leary in 1983 to assess the tendency of subjective social anxiety experiences independent of behavior. IAS consists of 15 self-report items covering subjective anxiety (tension and nervousness) or its opposite (relaxation, calmness), but not specific external behaviors. Most items involve immediate social situations where personal responses aren't predetermined but depend on reactions of others present (unlike prepared public speeches). As a scale measuring tendencies of social anxiety experiences in conversations, IAS demonstrates good reliability and validity.

Note: As this scale is only an auxiliary screening tool, the test results are for reference only.
