Introduction
Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) - Free online depression screening test. Developed in 1977 by the National Institute of Mental Health researcher Sirodff, originally named the Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale. Widely used in epidemiological surveys to screen for depressive symptoms in populations for further clinical evaluation. Also used clinically to assess depression severity. Compared to other depression scales, CES-D focuses more on emotional experiences with less emphasis on physical symptoms.
